Another custom order doll kit in the making. She is almost finished with her painting so I wanted to give everyone a quick look so far.
She will have strawberry blonde hair so her skin is fairly pale to make her hair stand out.
Her doll kit is the Tegan by Laura Lee Eagles and the details are amazingly realistic.
I’m working on alot of babies at the moment and this custom order remake of Amari is just one of them.
I just wanted to share a couple of photos of her so far and would love to know what you all think 🙂
I’ve got a lot more to do but I think she is turning out really cute.
I just wanted to show you the difference in colour of the weighted limbs and non weighted limbs.
As you can see it gives a darker appearance which is what gives the doll a more realistic appearance.
There is no need to do a purple wash on the inside.
I use the tiny glass beads that I sell on my website.
I have been playing around with this doll kit in between all my custom order dolls… Testing out mottling etc and I think it’s now done.
I’ll be adding soft curly blonde hair to him or her and then they will be looking for a home.
So.. What do you think about the gender and names for this one…..?
Thought I would do a quick review on one of Secrists starter kits…this one is the mini and features a 6" doll kit.

How to make your very own doll kit racking system by Nikki Holland
"I ran out of room on my work table, so I came up with the idea of turning the baskets I used and the spare clothes rack I had, and turn it into a hanging basket storage system for all the kits I'm working on.
It took 136+ cable ties and alot of patience to get the tension just right….but I think it turned out great."
TOOLS AND SUPPLIES NEEDED:
A two level clothing rack / dryer:
32 plastic Baskets – Size 12" L x 8" W x 4.5" D
136+ long cable ties
16+ short cable ties
First Step:
Extend the bars up fully and place your four baskets on top.
You need to make sure your baskets sit nice and flush on the top two rails, then cable tie them to the rails using 4 small cable ties on each corner.
Step Two:
Using your long cable ties, feed them from the inside bottom to the inside top of your second basket.
Pull the cable tie until you feel a little click..this is the jammer and it about an inch from the end.
Continue until you reach the bottom baskets and cable tie to the bottom of the rack with either long or small cable ties.
Then simply tighten the cable ties between each hanging basket bit by bit to get them tensioned.
This is the side view – the angle helps get the kits in and out easily.
